Tentoonstelling Museum voor Schone Kunsten Antwerpen: werken van Belgische kunstenaars in Venetiƫ (J-P. Laenen, W. Leblanc, D. Van Severen, J. Verheyen)

1970 00:02:51 b&w

On 24 June 1970 the 35th Biennale of Venice opened, “to date the largest art funfair in the world” the ironic voice-over comments in this short documentary Jef Cornelis made at the time for the television programme Zoeklicht (Searchlight). That year the Belgian Pavilion had been divided in a Flemish and Walloon part. In the contemporary arts department of the Antwerp Museum of Fine Arts an informative exhibition provided an introduction to the work of the Flemish participants in Venice: Jean-Paul Laenen, Walter Leblanc, Daan Van Severen and Jef Verheyen.
