Part of a series of short themed sketches surrounding the question “When is Art NOT Criticism?”, ’When the word ’art’ urges someone to buy’ is a report on a painting and framework factory, producing 300.000 oil paintings each year. Outworkers produce 50 pieces a day. The notion of “art” is used as a quality label for a mass article, uplifting wall decorations to become a status object. Part of the BRT (Belgian radio and television broadcast network) television series ’Openbaar Kunstbezit’ (’Public Art Heritage’) .
